The Hand That Cradles The Rock is a twice-weekly newsletter about curling. We’ll discuss everything about the game but definitely want to highlight the club aspect of the sport above all else.

My name is Matt Sussman. I’m a curler from Toledo, Ohio and discovered the game in 2001. I’ve played in a weekly curling league since 2010. I do one or two competitive bonspiels a year. I’ve written about sports on the Internet for over a decade on various websites. I’ve written about curling for Deadspin and The Curling News. I write about baseball for Baseball Prospectus. I also have a day job. This newsletter is a passion project so I hope you share the passion and send me some great and cool stuff about what your curling club is doing.
